Biography

Born in the heart of California’s Central Valley, Los Hooligans has been a driving force in the West Coast ska scene for over three decades. Hailing from Fresno, this genre-defying ensemble blends traditional Jamaican ska, Latin influences, jazz sophistication, and a punk rock edge into an explosive, dance-fueled experience that’s impossible to ignore.

Formed in the early 1990s, Los Hooligans cut their teeth in packed local clubs and all-ages shows, quickly earning a reputation for tight musicianship and sweat-soaked performances. With a killer horn section, relentless rhythm, and soulful vocals, their sound nods to the roots of ska while charging forward with fresh energy and originality.

Over the years, they’ve shared stages with iconic acts like The Skatalites, The Specials, The English Beat, Hepcat, The Aggrolites, The Inciters, Monkey, and Western Standard Time, and have become staples of West Coast festivals and club circuits. Their music speaks to a wide audience: ska purists, Latin music lovers, punks, and jazz heads alike and their message of unity, movement, and good times transcends genres.

What sets Los Hooligans apart is their ability to ignite a room. Whether it’s a 300-capacity venue or a citywide event, they bring a professional, polished performance without losing the raw energy that started it all. Their original songs are packed with infectious grooves, sharp horn lines, and banger lyrics. And, when they throw in a cover, they make it their own.

With new material always in the works and a renewed passion for the stage, Los Hooligans continues to evolve while staying true to their roots. For promoters and venue managers looking to book a band that can move a crowd, appeal to a broad demographic, and deliver every single time, Los Hooligans is the real deal!
